Femineast Festival Shahrzad Quartet

Singer and setar player Mojgan Shajarian, the daughter of the legendary vocalist Mohammadreza Shajarian, will be performing with the Shahrzad Ensemble, a string quartet from Iran, during the FeminEast Festival in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Their concert will be held at the Gothenburg Concert Hall on November 30, the organizers have announced.

Mojgan received her musical education from her father and other great singers like tar virtuoso Hossein Alizadeh, but she also has a college education in music.

This is the first time Mojgan is collaborating with the Shahrzad Ensemble, which mostly focuses on works by Iranian composers, including Tahmuers Purnazeri and Shahrdad Rohani.

Tina Jamegarani, Negar Nurad, Yeganeh Hosseininia and Nilufar Sohi, each of whom possesses a master’s degree in classical music, are the members of the all-female band Shahrzad.

The FeminEast Festival focuses on strong female musicians from the Middle East on the theme of Voices of Change. Musicians from Syria, Afghanistan and many other countries will be performing at the festival.
